Spela Kasal was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After modelling for some time in New York and Paris – where she got to know her way around the industry, she began studying in the Graphic Design Department at the University for Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana. She spent the last year of her studies in Paris at ESAG, Penninghen. Since graduating in photography, picking up some awards for her work, and working as a fashion editor for Kontrast magazine, she’s been working as a freelance photographer in fashion, portraiture, advertising, and art photography for various agencies and magazines; she exhibits on occasion and her work appears in several book publications. She travels a lot and lives and works in Paris.
